Incision Types
Breast lift incisions are strategically planned to address sagging or drooping breasts while minimizing visible scarring and preserving nipple sensation. Each approach offers distinct advantages and considerations, and the selection is tailored to each patient’s unique anatomy and desired outcome:
Vertical Lift: Dr. Snyder typically uses a circular incision around the areola and a vertical incision that spans from the bottom of the areola to the fold underneath the breast. The vertical incision and surrounding skin underneath the breast appear bunched after surgery, but this will smooth out over time.
Lollipop Lift: With the lollipop lift, you will have double incisions to carry out the skin excision. One will be around the areola, and the other will be in a straight line from the areola to the underside breast crease.
Donut Lift: The donut lift uses an incision to lift the nipple and remove excess tissue below. If you have a breast augmentation carried out at the same time as a donut lift, the scar will only be around the areola.
Crescent Lift: The crescent lift is an ideal technique for cases of minor sagging. Dr. Snyder would remove a crescent-shaped section of the breast (above the areola) and elevate it to a higher position before sutures.
