This patient had a history of left breast cancer, mastectomy and an implant based reconstruction performed elsewhere. She also had an implant placed to her right breast to improve symmetry. However, she was quite displeased with her reconstructive outcome and decided to abandon the implant reconstruction and have a DIEP flap in its place. She also had her right breast implant exchanged to improve breast shape and size. She is very pleased now with her breast reconstruction. As you can see from her before/after photos, the DIEP flap reconstruction does a better job with regard to breast shape and symmetry to her right breast. The humor regarding the placement of her left nipple tattoo is not lost on us.
