Have you considered undergoing a traditional face or body lift but feel intimidated by major surgery? Snyder Plastic Surgery in Austin, TX, is pleased to offer a solution with EuroThreads, a minimally invasive, nonsurgical procedure that provides phenomenal results.
Understanding EuroThreads
Often called PDO threads or “lunchtime lift,” EuroThreads utilizes dissolving sutures, or threads, to lift skin, smooth wrinkles, decrease fine lines, and firm up skin that was once lax. The absorbable threads can be used to promote the natural production of collagen while offering a beautiful, lifted appearance to our Austin, Cedar Park, Waco, Temple, and Georgetown, TX, patients. EuroThreads is a versatile treatment that can address various areas, including the face, neck, and body, offering a minimally invasive alternative to traditional facelifts and other surgical procedures.

meet our teamCandidacy for EuroThreads
Candidacy for EuroThreads is generally determined by an individual’s skin condition and aesthetic goals. Ideal candidates Include:
- Those experiencing mild to moderate sagging skin
- Individuals looking for a non-surgical solution to enhance their appearance
- Men and women who are in good overall health
- Patients seeking a quick recovery
- Those who want subtle, natural-looking results without the need for extensive surgery or prolonged recovery periods.
The Science Behind EuroThreads
EuroThreads uses polydioxanone (PDO) threads, which have been safely used in surgical sutures for decades. These threads are inserted into the skin’s subdermal layers, creating a lifting and tightening effect. The insertion triggers the body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen production around the threads. As the threads dissolve over several months, the newly formed collagen helps to maintain the lift and improve skin texture and elasticity. This dual action of immediate lift and gradual collagen regeneration offers a comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation.

EuroThreads Step-by-Step
Before
A pre-treatment evaluation will help create a personalized treatment plan and ensure that you are a suitable candidate before undergoing a EuroThreads procedure. Additionally, it is important to follow any pre-procedure instructions provided by Dr. Snyder, which may include avoiding certain medications and supplements that can increase the risk of bruising or bleeding. Proper preparation helps to enhance the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.
During
The PDO Threads typically take an hour or less to perform. The dissolvable threads will be inserted via a cannula or sterilized needle beneath the skin in the treatment area. The cannula or needle will then be removed, and the threads left in place so that they can be pulled to lift and tighten the skin. The amount of threads used for your procedure will depend on the size of the treatment area as well as your desired result. It is not uncommon for Dr. Snyder to perform this procedure in conjunction with other nonsurgical services for optimal results. Once the procedure is complete, the threads are left behind to be absorbed by your body.
After
Minor bruising, swelling, soreness, and redness are common following a EuroThreads lift but should not be severe or lasting. Most patients begin to notice results within a few hours following the procedure, with the most obvious results appearing in the weeks afterward. Results are typically amplified when the procedure involves the use of added nonsurgical treatments and services. After the procedure, Dr. Snyder will recommend a follow-up visit. We highly recommend all of our patients attend this appointment so that Dr. Snyder can check the success of the treatment and make recommendations that will help you retain your results.
