Austin Tummy Tuck – Redefine Your Mid-Section

By: Ned Snyder, IV, M.D.

The Austin Tummy Tuck, or Abdominoplasty as it’s also known, is a popular cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of the mid-section by removing excess skin and fat to create a smoother, tighter appearance. Many men and women alike become dissatisfied with their mid-sections after dramatic weight loss or pregnancy leaves them with sagging skin or loose, separated abdominal muscles. Other factors such as genetics, age and gravity also take their toll on the body. While diet and exercise are great for wielding healthy results, some people’s mid-sections are predisposed to hold on to fat in this area making it especially hard to lose weight there. Abdominoplasty, particularly when coupled with Liposuction, can help to both eliminate excess, stubborn fat cells as well as tighten the skin.

If you feel you’ve exhausted your options for getting the results you want, you may be considering abdominoplasty. Ideal candidates for the procedure are in good physical and mental health, non-smokers, and have realistic expectations about the procedures and potential results. To understand what “realistic” results are, a good rule of thumb is to look at previous abdominoplasty patients before and after photos. You’ll need to keep in mind, however, that each patient presents with their own set of goals and concerns. No two patients are alike and likewise, no two results will be either. Take a look at our Before and After Austin Tummy Tuck procedure results!
