Our eyes are one of the first things people notice about us.  If you are looking for a quick and easy way to take years off of your face with minimal surgery and downtime, an eyelid lift may be your answer to getting that refreshed look we all desire.

When skin ages it tends to lose its elasticity. Around the eyes, this loose skin begins to collect on the upper eyelids. An eyelid lift, or Upper Blepharoplasty, is one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed in-office for a quick and easy way to refresh a tired look. It’s all done under local anesthesia as an in-office procedure. The operation is fairly simple and associated with a quick, easy recovery. Within about 7 days the swelling and bruising is down and in about 14 days no one will know that you’ve had surgery.

In the past, eye surgery caused patients to look much different than before, due to the excess amount of skin and fat that was removed. The new and improved practice for this procedure is removing less and in some cases adding a little fat to the upper eyelids for a fuller, youthful look. Along with smoothing out wrinkles and giving you a younger refreshed look, this procedure will not result in you looking like a different person. Eyelid surgery can take years off of your appearance with a minimal incision that is well camouflaged when headed.

For an Upper Blepharoplasty, generally, an incision is hidden within the natural fold of the upper eyelid and extends slightly beyond the outside corner into the laugh lines or other existing creases. This incision allows excess skin and fatty tissue to be removed. For minimal scarring, the incision follows the natural contour of the upper eyelid. This surgery is usually performed for cosmetic reasons, but it can also help improve sight for some older patients who have sagging skin obstructing their proper vision.

The Upper Blepharoplasty procedure makes a big difference in your appearance with little amount of surgery and recovery in comparison to other cosmetic procedures.
