When you are looking for a nonsurgical treatment to tighten your skin, you should consult with our board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Ned Snyder at the Breast and Body Center of Austin. We offer ultherapy, a nonsurgical skin tightening treatment that delivers results similar to a facelift without painful surgery and downtime. Using ultrasound energy, ultherapy can tighten the skin of the wrinkles and lines on the eyebrows, neck, and chin, as well as along the chest area. This energy delves deeply into the layers of your skin to stimulate collagen production. Your body will naturally respond to the treatment for younger-looking, tighter skin. Call our Round Rock or Austin office to schedule your appointment.
Plastic surgery can yield dramatic results with a surgical lift of your skin. Please keep in mind that ultherapy will provide subtle results in comparison. During a private consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons, we will discuss which procedure is the right choice for you. Ultherapy is a good option for patients who aren’t willing are able to go under the knife. This procedure is also ideal for people who are looking for a quick procedure with no downtime. It is also significantly less expensive option than a facelift. Our team at Breast and Body Center of Austin recommends ultherapy for individuals whose skin is mildly to moderately loose around the neck or who have a sagging or double chin, a sagging eyebrow line, or lines and wrinkles in the chest area might be good candidates for this procedure. To learn more about this noninvasive skin tightening treatment, please contact our office and schedule a consultation.
Before ultherapy is performed, the treatment area is thoroughly cleansed. Dr. Snyder will apply an ultrasound gel onto the skin and then place the handheld applicator onto the patient’s skin. Using ultrasound imaging, we will be able to see deep within the skin to pinpoint the correct positioning for energy to be delivered. The ultrasound energy will be delivered underneath the surface of the skin. You can expect to feel small bits of energy delivered into various depths of the skin. Some people may feel a prickling sensation, so we may suggest taking a pain reliever or similar medication prior to treatment. The procedure can take anywhere from 30 – 90 minutes.
Since ultherapy is noninvasive, there is no downtime associated with the treatment. You will be able to return to day-to-day activities immediately. After the procedure, your skin may look flushed but this should subside within a few hours. Some patients report tenderness, slight swelling, or a tingling feeling in the treatment area, but these symptoms typically go away in a few days. Right after the procedure, you might see a slight improvement in your appearance. Within 2 – 3 months, most patients see a dramatic difference since the body has started to naturally regenerate collagen. Since ultherapy isn’t a surgery, patients need to realize that results won’t be comparable to those of cosmetic surgery.

Who Should Get It?
Individuals who are averse to surgical cosmetic procedures can benefit the most with Ultherapy. The results will be gradual, but the quality of improvement is significant as the healing starts within the skin. It is the ideal treatment for those who still have a good skin tone but have started to see signs of skin laxity. Most commonly, those who are aged 30 – 40 seek this treatment to slow down aging effects.
Immediate improvement can be readily seen right after treatment; however, optimal results become more noticeable after a few months. The treatment is safe to be repeated especially after 1 year as the positive effects subside.
The number of sessions depends on the patient’s skin condition and aesthetic goals. Most patients who still have a good skin tone can have significant results with a single treatment. For those who show more symptoms of skin aging, several treatments may be needed to produce the wanted results.
