You are not alone if you are not "in love" with the sight of your thighs. Many of our patients at Breast and Body Center of Austin request a consultation with our board-certified plastic surgeons because of the size of their thighs. This is especially a concern for women because the thighs are the most fat-concentrated parts of a woman’s body. Heavy thighs can be an issue for adults of all ages, and even for young or generally fit people. Dr. Ned Snyder IV perform thigh lifts for qualifying candidates to improve both the contour and proportion of thighs with liposuction and skin tightening techniques.
Liposuction targets those deposits of fat on thighs that never seem to go away regardless of diet and exercise. If you are within 10 – 20 pounds of your ideal body weight but are still frustrated by large thighs, liposuction could be the answer. The thigh lift will not get rid of lumpy cellulite, but it does take away the suctioned fat cells leaving less to expand and contract in the future. "I couldn't be more satisfied with Dr. Snyder and his staff! I first was introduced to the practice while going through chemotherapy and pregnant with our youngest son. Now almost a year later I finally had my DIEP Flap reconstruction last week. It's been a long journey but they are absolutely the best!!! I would recommend a million times. Thank you so much everyone at Breast and Body Center. You guys have made this whole process so worth it!! I'm in love with my new body."- R.W. / Facebook / Sep 18, 2017
"So where do I begin...Dr. Snyder is the plastic surgeon we all dream about. He is a dream personified into reality. Why you ask? Well...everything about that office is kismet. The front office staff are friendly. There are tons of free dermatology samples and sunscreen as his wife Réneé is a well-respected & reputable Dermatologist. His assistant Laurene Avis is very knowledgeable about all products, services, & surgical techniques. Veronica Alvarez handles billing and scheduling with finesse & ease. Then in walks this silver_haired tall cowboy. That's right y'all Blue suit and boots. Apparently, those boots were made for walking into operating rooms and crafting art. Yes...ART...I feel like a masterpiece after my surgery. I had two babies & my son left me with a hernia that needed repair amongst other signs of a struggle. Motherhood is beautiful...but can be hard when a size 0 girls carries an 8lb bouncing baby boy. Since my operation, I've had no complications. Scars are barely visible. I recommend squeezing vitamin-E capsules on the scar once he gives you the green light.I modeled some in my 20s. This was in the land of flat abs & thigh gaps. Lol! Now I'm mid 30s & I've been asked to promote & model for THREE different agencies! This all after being told I had aged out of modeling at 26. I've started a small business called Pepper Rose Retro...vintage pin-up clothing & accessories. He is a hidden jewel...trained in Europe & specializes in cosmetics and oncology procedures.Remember, I'm a Wake Forest trained PA...I would & will only go to the best. Special thanks Dr. Snyder and his team!"- T.O. / Yelp / Sep 17, 2017

Thighplasty is performed to enhance the looks of the inner thigh and/or outer thigh. During this procedure, an incision will be made near the top of the thigh (along the crease where the torso meets the leg) and ends at the inner aspect of the thigh. A large amount of tissue is removed from the top inner thigh area while the remaining skin is pulled up, tightened and secured with sutures. This process reshapes the thighs, providing them a tighter, more contoured appearance.
A combination of lower body contouring procedures, in addition to a thigh lift, can be combined to create a tighter lower body. A thigh lift and a butt lift are the most common combination. Some patients who are advised to have an outer thigh lift will generally need to have their butt lifted as well. With this, the outer thighs are pulled up and tightened with an incision that is made along the bottom of the buttock area. An incision can also be made around the lower back. This allows Dr. Snyder to address the upper thighs, buttock, and hips in one surgery. This is commonly known as a lower body lift.
Thigh lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical facility. The surgery takes an average of 2 to 3 hours to complete but could take longer if combined with another procedure. The recovery period typically takes about 6-8 weeks. Scars will also be a part of the procedure. Proper care is needed for the scar to heal safely. Patients find their self-confidence improve after surgery with the enhanced contour of their thighs.

Thigh Lift FAQs
Thigh lift is the best choice to achieve nicely contoured and slimmer legs. Because the procedure calls for skin tightening and liposuction in cases of excessive fat deposits, it may impact the appearance of cellulite, but it will not prevent it from happening or correct it.
Because this surgery is invasive, it is recommended that patients limit strenuous activities until fully recovered. Patients may go back to a normal (light) routine 3 to 4 weeks after surgery. Exercise should wait until about 6-8 weeks post-op. When all wounds are completely healed, patients may begin lower body moves such as lunges or squats.
Patients who adhere to a healthy lifestyle that includes a proper diet and exercise routine will enjoy their surgical results for years. Pregnancy or any additional weight gain after this surgery could compromise the overall surgical effect. It is also advised that patients be at or near their goal weight before surgery.
