You are not alone if you are not "in love" with the sight of your thighs. Many of our patients at Snyder Plastic Surgery at The Breast and Body Center request a consultation with our board-certified plastic surgeons because of the size of their thighs. This is especially a concern for women because the thighs are the most fat-concentrated parts of a woman’s body. Heavy thighs can be an issue for adults of all ages, and even for young or generally fit people. Dr. Ned Snyder IV perform thigh lifts for qualifying candidates to improve both the contour and proportion of thighs with liposuction and skin tightening techniques.
Liposuction targets those deposits of fat on thighs that never seem to go away regardless of diet and exercise. If you are within 10 – 20 pounds of your ideal body weight but are still frustrated by large thighs, liposuction could be the answer. The thigh lift will not get rid of lumpy cellulite, but it does take away the suctioned fat cells leaving less to expand and contract in the future. Everyone that I met from my first consultation to my post follow up after surgery were extremely helpful and informative. Dr. Snyder himself is an amazing surgeon. My results are perfect and better than I ever could have imagined. I highly recommend him if you are thinking about this procedure. His PA, Jen was extremely helpful and informative as well. The facilities from Dr. Snyder’s office to the surgical site used were clean, beautiful and comfortable. "Dr. Ned Snyder and his team are EXCEPTIONAL! I am 61 years old and 3 weeks post breast lift surgery. I am so very happy with my results. I knew when I went in for my first consultation appointment that I had chosen a great team. Dr. Snyder took his time to explain the procedure and he answered any questions that I had. Everyone in the office is professional, kind and even a little light hearted which made me more comfortable. His team kept in contact with me as I was setting up my surgery and helped me with all of the specifics. Before and after surgery Laurene, Dr. Snyder's Medical Assistant, was available to answer any questions or concerns. She has been so caring & helpful. Inspire Surgical Center & entire surgical team were wonderful as well. I liked that it was smaller and more intimate than most out-patient centers. Dr. Snyder's PA, Jennifer Baderen has seen me for my post-op appointments and she has been so helpful and reassuring as I am healing. I am so pleased and blessed to have Dr. Snyder as my surgeon. I can not thank him enough for my great results."- J.P. / Google / Jun 21, 2018

Thighplasty is performed to enhance the looks of the inner thigh and/or outer thigh. During this procedure, an incision will be made near the top of the thigh (along the crease where the torso meets the leg) and ends at the inner aspect of the thigh. A large amount of tissue is removed from the top inner thigh area while the remaining skin is pulled up, tightened and secured with sutures. This process reshapes the thighs, providing them a tighter, more contoured appearance.
A combination of lower body contouring procedures, in addition to a thigh lift, can be combined to create a tighter lower body. A thigh lift and a butt lift are the most common combination. Some patients who are advised to have an outer thigh lift will generally need to have their butt lifted as well. With this, the outer thighs are pulled up and tightened with an incision that is made along the bottom of the buttock area. An incision can also be made around the lower back. This allows Dr. Snyder to address the upper thighs, buttock, and hips in one surgery. This is commonly known as a lower body lift.
Thigh lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical facility. The surgery takes an average of 2 to 3 hours to complete but could take longer if combined with another procedure. The recovery period typically takes about 6-8 weeks. Scars will also be a part of the procedure. Proper care is needed for the scar to heal safely. Patients find their self-confidence improve after surgery with the enhanced contour of their thighs.

Thigh Lift FAQs
Thigh lift is the best choice to achieve nicely contoured and slimmer legs. Because the procedure calls for skin tightening and liposuction in cases of excessive fat deposits, it may impact the appearance of cellulite, but it will not prevent it from happening or correct it.
Because this surgery is invasive, it is recommended that patients limit strenuous activities until fully recovered. Patients may go back to a normal (light) routine 3 to 4 weeks after surgery. Exercise should wait until about 6-8 weeks post-op. When all wounds are completely healed, patients may begin lower body moves such as lunges or squats.
Patients who adhere to a healthy lifestyle that includes a proper diet and exercise routine will enjoy their surgical results for years. Pregnancy or any additional weight gain after this surgery could compromise the overall surgical effect. It is also advised that patients be at or near their goal weight before surgery.
